Hire Purchase Car Finance FAQ's
This warranty is available for passenger cars, vans and light commercial vehicles up to 3,500kg GVW, registered in the UK, subject to eligibility and usage restrictions.
The warranty does not cover vehicles that are:
- Used for hire or reward (e.g. taxis or driving tuition)
- Used for courier or delivery purposes, or for emergency services or military use
- Previously recorded as an insurance total loss
- Modified from the manufacturer’s specification (unless agreed)
- Used for racing, rallying or other competitive events
- Non-UK specification or classed as a grey import, or vehicles such as kit cars, buses, coaches, or commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes GVW
Your Cargiant Warranty is designed to help cover the cost of repair or replacement of covered mechanical and electrical components of your vehicle that fail due to sudden and unforeseen breakdown during the period of cover.
The warranty includes the cost of parts, approved labour (within policy limits) and VAT for those components that:
- Were supplied as part of the manufacturer’s original specification, and
- Are not specifically excluded under the terms and conditions of the policy.
Examples of cover include major mechanical and electrical systems and components, subject to eligibility, limits and exclusions detailed in your policy documentation.
If you think that you have a fault which may be covered by the Warranty, you must contact The administrator, Spectrum Insurance Services Limited in the first instance. The claims telephone number is: 0114 553 6000.
They will require the following information, so please have this to hand when telephoning:
– Cargiant Warranty Reference Number.
– Current mileage of your vehicle.
– Details of the vehicle service history.
